Seven circles?
Go for it!
If nothing else, it does re-instate a love for tactics.

Rapid Chess Improvement is one of the worst books I have ever seen. The guy became a USCF master (which is approx 1700 ACF) How is that an achievement? Anyone who reads tactic books, plays in tournaments regularly could achieve this level (good club level)
Can't believe people are buying this crappy book!
1) De La Maza never achieved master
2) A Master is 2200+ USCF, and that certainly is a proud accomplishment...
The previous person is wrong on both counts..
Master is much more than 'strong club level.' Master is MUCH more than 1700 ACF. A master would make quick work of a 1700 ACF player....(Master is 2200+ and a life master is someone who maintained that rating for 100 games I believe)....
De La Maza's book is bad but not for the reasons mentioned by one of the users above....It is bad because it isn't worth the money....His point is fairly simple...TACTICS is the most important thing...And, he gives a straight forward (yet tough) program to study tactics....You can get this info for FREE...Thats why the book is bad...Just google '7 circles.'
